HABITAT DESIGN

The Post Graduate program Master of Architecture in Habitat Design, being one of the first of its kind in thecountry offers a holistic approach and identity while linking undergraduate and research programs. The program is of two years duration (four semesters). M. Arch (Habitat Design) program commenced from 2005 with a program duration of two years(four semesters) each semester having duration of 18 weeks. Mandatory Practical Training of 8 weeks duration is in between second and third semester.The program is structured mainly as a studio component backed with strong emphasis on theoretical discourse. Students encouraged to actively participate in various design competitions, choose live projects and write technical papers for various refereed journals and conferences at national and international levels.

The Master’s Program at the First Semester Level involves detailed Documentation & Analysis of Various Urban Districts in our city.

Documenting and analysing various layers- Physical, Social, Economic, Ecological aspects in the inner city was dealt with in the Third semester studio. Identifying issues and arriving at strategies was the highlight of the studio.
