Admission Procedure

CET Admissions: (CET College Code E-266)

We take admission through the CET merit list of current year as notified and published by KEA.

Note: Candidates seeking admissions under this category shall obtain admission through the CET Cell of Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Eligibility Criteria:
  • "No candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless she/he has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and also at least 50% marls in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate".
  • The candidate shall be eligible for admission if he/she has compulsorily cleared the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA).
  • The candidate shall be eligible for admission if he/she has cleared the JEE paper-2 Examination.
The following is the weightage for arriving at the rank list for admission through COMED-K

Architectural Aptitude – NATA : 50% of the marks scored by the candidate

Qualifying Examination: 50% of the marks scored by the candidate

Candidates seeking admissions under this category shall obtain admission through the Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K).

The qualifying examination prescribed for admission to B. Arch is 2nd PUC [OR] 10+2 higher secondary or an equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the along with other subjects [OR] a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC, ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka).

Candidates should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture.

The candidates seeking admission under this quota need to necessarily register using the online forms hosted on the Comed-K website and once registered, should regularly check the announcements made on the Comed-K website.

Note : COMEDK will not be conducting any Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B.Arch (Architecture Course) as per its existing rules.

Eligibility for M.Arch (Habitat Design) Admissions

Admission to the Master of Architecture Programme shall be open to all the candidates who have passed B.Arch. Examination of VTU or any other recognized University / Institution. For the foreign degrees Equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities is a must. The candidates who have completed their prerequisite degree through the distance mode education from any University (National or International) are not eligible for admission to M.Arch. Programs under any quota i.e., Government/ Management.

Qualification awarded by the Indian Institute of Architects (AIIA) and recognized by the regulations of Council of Architecture (COA), shall be considered equivalent to B.Arch. The candidates seeking admission to M. Arch. Programs on the basis of IIA Associateship qualification shall qualify the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET)

Admission to M.Arch. Programme shall be open to the candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examination with not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examination. However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and Category I, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall not be less than 45%.

For Admissions through PGCET

Admission can be obtained under two categories:

For Admissions under Management quota

Candidates fulfilling the following minimum qualification may apply for admission to M.Arch.[Habitat Design] Program under Management Quota:

  • Candidates with Bachelors degree in Architecture(B.Arch)or equivalent recognized by Council of Architecture, New Delhi with 50% in the aggregate of all the years of the B.Arch degree examination( (45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates.)
  • The candidates should be GATE (Architecture) qualified or should have qualified for the Entrance Examination conducted by an authority recognized by Government of Karnataka / VTU/ any other University on approval by Government of Karnataka. Further, there shall be an Admissions Committee for the M.Arch programme consisting of the Principal of the College as the Chairman, Head of the concerned Department, one senior faculty of the concerned Department or Subject Experts as members. The Admissions Committee will select the candidates for admissions through the process of interviews.
