Dr. Lekha Hegde is a Professor of Architecture with over two decades of academic and professional experience in architectural education, research, and academic administration. She holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture, a master’s degree in architecture, and a PhD, with her research focusing on climate-responsive and vernacular architecture. She has served in various academic roles, including Professor and Head of Examinations. Dr. Hegde has published widely in national and international journals and has presented papers at prestigious conferences. Her academic interests include sustainable design, building science and heritage studies.

Dr. Dakshayini R. Patil, Professor & currently Academic Research- Lead is an Architect & Urban designer by qualification with over 22 years of experience in Academia, Research & Industry. Her B.Arch is from BVBCET Hubli (1999), M.Arch in Urban Design from RVCE (2010) and Ph D under Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi (2019) completed under Supervisor Dr. Mamatha P. Raj addressed ‘Walkable mobility in for Senior citizens'. She has 26 publications in reputed refereed Journals & conferences at National & International levels, indexed in Scopus & Google Scholar. She has won awards such as best research paper (2nd place) presented at 6th UMI National conference by Institute of Urban Transport under the aegis of MoUD, GOI in 2013. She has worked in India with firms such as M/s Arch Plan, Sobha Developers Ltd on various INFOSYS projects in Mysore & RSP Design Consultants Pvt Ltd, Bangalore on several Master Planning & UD projects across India & Singapore; she worked at USA with HSM, Minneapolis, MN and undertaken several architectural consultancy projects.

"Triveni Chikkanna is a landscape architect and academic whose work bridges ecological sensitivity, social well-being, and human-centric design. She is currently an Associate Professor at BMS College of Architecture Design and Planning, Bengaluru, where she teaches landscape design studios, theory, and research-oriented courses. With professional training in architecture and advanced academic specialization, her practice and pedagogy focus on understanding how landscapes influence psychological comfort, community interaction, and everyday health. Her research interests engage with therapeutic landscapes, urban open spaces, water-sensitive urbanism, and inclusive public environments, examining how design can function as a tool for care, recovery, and social equity. Through scholarly publications and conference contributions, she has explored the reciprocal relationship between communities and their open spaces, as well as sustainable integration of wetlands and blue-green infrastructure into Indian urban contexts.

"Associate Professor of Architecture at BMS College of Architecture, Design & Planning, Bangalore, with nearly three decades of combined academic and professional experience. He holds a B.Arch. from UVCE, Bangalore, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Planning (equivalent to M. Plan) from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, where he was a GATE scholar.

He began his career as a lecturer at Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering and has since served in various academic roles including Visiting Faculty, Assistant Professor, Professor (on contract), and Associate Professor across leading institutions such as DSCE, BMS College of Engineering, and BMS College of Architecture. "Ar. Channabasavaradhya K. B. is an architect and educator with nearly fifteen years of experience spanning academic engagement, professional practice, and institutional consultancy. His approach is guided by a strong practical orientation, emphasising realistic assessment of time, resources, materials, and team capabilities to achieve well-coordinated and buildable outcomes. He is recognised for his systematic handling of multiple consultancy assignments and for critically evaluating the relevance, performance, and applicability of emerging construction materials.

He actively contributes to quality assurance activities, and institutional development initiatives. He currently serves as the Consultancy Lead of the institution and is involved in coordinating design-based and urban-scale consultancy projects. His administrative roles include Chairperson of the Anti-Ragging Committee, Convener of the Grievance Redressal Cell, and Member of the Board of Governors. He also oversees key academic infrastructure facilities, including the Construction Yard Laboratory, Material Museum, Library (Architecture Section), and Plumbing and Sanitation Laboratory. He maintains a keen interest in real estate dynamics, recognising market forces and stakeholder behaviour as critical drivers shaping opportunities for architects within the evolving built environment. An Architect, graduated from NIT Hamirpur, with professional experience in residential, commercial, institutional, and retail projects across Chandigarh, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Uttarakhand. She has worked with SD Sharma and Associates, Jaiswal and Associates, and on mall planning projects for Tesco HSC across Thailand and Malaysia. She holds a rank in her Master’s (M.Arch) in Construction and Project Management and is currently an Associate Professor at BMS College of Architecture, pursuing her PhD from VTU Belagavi.

Ar. Ketki Bharat Tendolkar is an Associate Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning (BMSCA D&P), Bengaluru, with over 13 years of experience as an academician. Her specialization is Landscape Architecture which reflects in her teaching and research that is grounded in a deep engagement with landscape, ecology, and the interrelationships between built environments and natural systems. She brings an interdisciplinary perspective to architectural education, encouraging students to critically understand context, terrain, water, and ecological processes as integral components of design and planning.

With a strong interest in landscape studies and nature-based approaches, her teaching reflects a sensitivity toward sustainable development and environmentally responsive design. Beyond academics, she is an avid traveller and trekker, drawing inspiration from diverse geographies and ecosystems. These experiences inform her pedagogical approach and reinforce her commitment to experiential learning. Her research interests lie in urban sustainability, transport planning, walkability, and community-focused design. "Dr. Leena Thombre (PhD, M.Plan., B.Arch) is an Associate Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design & Planning, Bengaluru, with over a decade of academic and professional experience in architecture and urban planning. A results-driven educator, she fosters creative, discussion-based learning to promote critical and alternative thinking among students. Her teaching areas include Urban Planning, Planning Theory and Techniques, Urban Economics, and Urban Sociology, and she has guided several undergraduate and postgraduate theses. Dr. Thombre is a Project Director for the ICSSR-funded research project “Comparative Analysis of Sports Infrastructure Accessibility in Rural and Peri-Urban Areas using GIS and Analytical Hierarchy Process: Case of Selected Rural Districts of Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka” (ICSSR-VB-2024-1643), conducted with MANIT Bhopal and BMS College of Architecture. Her doctoral research focused on evaluating the conviviality of public open spaces in Indian cities. Her research interests include GIS-based spatial analysis, infrastructure accessibility, public open spaces, and inclusive urban–rural planning. She has published in Scopus and UGC CARE–listed journals and has professional experience in municipal, advisory, and community-based urban projects."

I'm A Karthick, an Architect and Urban Designer with 14 years of experience in both academic and professional realms. Currently working as Associate Professor at the BMS College of Architecture, Design & Planning (BMSCA D&P), Bengaluru. I've worked on diverse projects, including residential, and commercial, buildings in prominent firms in India. As an Associate Professor at SVS School of Architecture and Assistant Professor at SRM School of Architecture, I've guided UG and PG thesis work and taught Theory and Studio courses. Specializing in urban design, I've led an Urban Design studio for 12 years and have published papers in journals and conferences. My teaching focuses on fostering creativity, practical learning, and student-driven exploration

Architect Seema Thippeswamy is a registered architect with the Council of Architecture (COA), India, and an Associate Member of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA). She is currently serving as an Associate Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning, a position she has held since May 2023. Prior to this, she was associated with Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Architecture, Pune, where she served as an Assistant Professor from 2010 to 2023. She brings with her a total of 17 years of professional experience, comprising 15 years in architectural education and two years in professional practice. With a strong commitment to academics and research, she has contributed scholarly work through publications in both national and international journals. Her research interests primarily lie in the domains of environmental architecture and architectural sociology, reflecting an interdisciplinary approach to sustainable and socially responsive design.

Dr. Yogita Nagpure is an Associate Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning, Bengaluru, with over 21 years of national and international experience in architectural practice and academia. Her professional journey includes work experience in Singapore, Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur, across reputed firms and organizations. She brings together 12 years of academic experience with extensive expertise in freelance architecture, interior design, and construction projects, effectively integrating professional practice with architectural education. She is currently involved in a live research collaboration under the SSG Bridge initiative, linking Birmingham, United Kingdom, and Ludhiana, Punjab. Dr. Nagpure has published and presented research papers in Scopus-indexed and UGC-listed journals, as well as at national and international conferences. She is also a keynote speaker at national conferences and a guest lecturer at various architectural institutions. Her areas of specialization include Product Design and Interior Design. She holds a B. Arch from KITS, Ramtek, an M.Des from PIADS, Nagpur, and a Ph.D. in Architecture from Lovely School of Architecture & Design, Phagwara. She has previously served as an Associate Professor at leading architecture colleges in Pune and Mumbai and has held key academic leadership roles including NAAC, CDC, and IQAC Head. Recognized for her contributions, she has received several awards for excellence in design, sports, and leadership.

"Dr. Naveen Kishore is an Associate Professor of Architecture with over 22 years of combined academic and professional experience, including more than 12 years in teaching and 10 years in architectural practice. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Mysore, an M.E. (Honors) in Construction Technology and Management from RGPV Bhopal, and a Ph.D. from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, an Institution of National Importance. Dr. Kishore has previously served at reputed institutions such as SPA Bhopal and Siddaganga Institute of Technology, and is currently associated with BMS College of Architecture, Design & Planning, Bengaluru. His research interests focus on bioclimatic architecture, climate-responsive design, energy-efficient and low-energy buildings, passive cooling strategies, and thermal performance of buildings.

He has published extensively in high-impact international journals including Building and Environment and Indoor and Built Environment, and has presented papers at prestigious international conferences such as PLEA (UK, Hong Kong) and IIT Roorkee. A recipient of multiple Best Paper Awards, Dr. Kishore is also an active reviewer for leading international journals published by Elsevier and SAGE. He is a registered architect with the Council of Architecture (India) and is committed to advancing sustainable architectural pedagogy and research."

Dr. Balaji Venkatachary is an Associate Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning, Bengaluru, with over 15 years of academic and professional experience across India and Bahrain. He holds a PhD in Conservation from SPA Bhopal, M.Arch in Architectural Conservation from SPA New Delhi (where he graduated as a topper), and B.Arch from Adhiyamaan Engineering College, Hosur. His work explores cultural landscapes, conservation theory, digital humanities, and intellectual property frameworks for indigenous and traditional knowledge. His research integrates spatial analysis, archival methods, and field-based documentation, bridging tangible and intangible heritage. He has led and contributed to research and consultancy projects with organisations such as TERI, the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, and the Hyderabad Golf Association. He has held leadership roles as Head of Department and Principal-in-charge and has served as a member on various committees, Board of Governors and Boards of Examination. Dr. Balaji contributes to the discipline through scholarly publication, peer review, and invited lectures within regional and national educational and professional forums.

"Namratha Bharadwaj is an Assistant Professor at BMSCA D&P, specializing in Civil and Structural Engineering. With nine years of experience, she holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from VTU Belagavi. Her teaching portfolio encompasses core disciplines such as Building Structures, Earthquake-Resistant Design, Surveying, and Construction Materials.

An active researcher, Namratha has published peer-reviewed papers in several national and international journals. Her scholarly work focuses on sustainable alternative materials, stemming from her extensive master’s thesis on Stabilized Adobe. Her current research interests center on Sustainability in Construction, Embodied Energy, and Carbon reduction. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and a focus on alternative technologies, she is dedicated to advancing eco-friendly innovations within the built environment."

Ar. Shwetha K. Purohit is an Assistant Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning, Bengaluru, with over eight years of academic, research, and professional experience. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture, a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, and a Master of Fine Arts in Bharatanatyam, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. under VTU with research focused on the impact of urban expansion on ecosystems along the Kaveri River belt. Her academic interests span architectural and landscape design, history of architecture, heritage conservation, and urban ecological systems. She has published research papers, book chapters, and actively presents at national and international conferences. An IGBC Accredited Faculty and trained Bharatanatyam dancer, she integrates interdisciplinary perspectives of culture, ecology, and performance into architectural pedagogy and research.

Rachana S. Shahapur is an Architect and holds a master’s degree in Interior Design from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), Hyderabad. Her academic and research interests include the impact of interior environments on mental health and the role of art and craft in architecture. She enjoys exploring ideas through making, drawing, and hands-on work. Teaching is an important part of her journey, where she enjoys guiding students to think creatively, work practically, and develop their own design voice rooted in context and culture. She has also published research papers in reputed journals, reflecting her interest in design research and academic inquiry.

"Ar. Sindhushree R. Prasad is an architect and habitat designer, and a Gold Medallist in the Master’s programme in Habitat Design. Her academic and professional interests lie in heritage urban management and inclusive, accessible design, with a strong emphasis on equity and everyday urbanism. As an educator, she integrates these concerns into design pedagogy, encouraging students to engage critically with real urban contexts and lived environments. Through teaching, research, and practice, she remains committed to shaping humane, inclusive, and socially responsive cities.

Beyond academia and professional practice, she is an avid quizzer and a trained dancer. "Sakshi Reddy is an Urban Designer and Architect based in Bengaluru with over four years of academic experience. She is currently an Assistant Professor at BMS College of Architecture, teaching Computer Applications and BIM, and guiding students in digital design workflows and architectural software. Her research focuses on Heritage Trail projects, 15-Minute Cities, adaptive reuse, and institutional architecture.

Professionally, she has worked as a Lead Architect at Melding Spaces LLP, leading a 3-acre township masterplan in Bidar, Karnataka, emphasizing efficiency and low-carbon strategies and worked on and several other architectural and Inteior projects. She also served as an Assistant Urban Designer at JANA Urban Space Foundation, contributing to city master plans for Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, and Pudukkottai under the AMRUT Scheme, as well as the Chennai Mega Streets Project. Sakshi holds a Master of Planning in Urban Design from CEPT University and a Bachelor of Architecture from RV College of Architecture."

"Rohith A is an Assistant Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning, Bengaluru. He holds an M.Arch in Habitat Design from BMSCA and a B.Arch from MSRIT, and is currently pursuing a PhD under VTU. His work explores urban commons, cultural landscapes, temple architecture, and heritage documentation. His master’s thesis on Urban Commons was recognised among the Top 10 global master’s thesis by the DAIDA Foundation and was showcased at various platforms, including ISOLA and IUDI.

At BMSCA D&P, Rohith works closely with students on heritage documentation and community-based projects. He has led Urban documentation of the Malleshwaram neighbourhood, heritage documentation of the Adamaru Mutta in Udupi, the Jain Basadis of Varanga, and Jammittige Agrahara in Hariharapura, all of which have received awards and national recognition. His interests extend to Carnatic music, traditional art forms, handloom and Indian textiles, and sustainable lifestyle practices. "

Rakshith Raj is an architect and urban designer (MUDD) and serves as an Assistant Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design & Planning, Bengaluru. With over five years of combined academic and professional experience, he actively engages in teaching, research, and practice. His academic interests span architectural theory, urban design, building services, sustainability, and energy-efficient design, with a growing focus on computational design and AI-driven approaches in architecture. At BMSCA D&P, he is involved in studio-based teaching, research mentoring, and academic initiatives that bridge technology, ecology, and design thinking. He also plays an active role in developing innovation-oriented platforms and labs that encourage experimentation, interdisciplinary learning, and industry collaboration. Through his pedagogy, Rakshith emphasizes contextual responsiveness, environmental performance, and critical inquiry, aiming to equip students with future-ready skills. He is currently pursuing research exploring the integration of artificial intelligence to improve building performance, energy efficiency, and sustainable outcomes in architecture.

"I am an architect and urban designer with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Urban Design, bringing over 6.5 years of combined professional experience across international industry practice and academia. My professional journey encompasses 3 years of industry experience in the Middle East, where I worked on diverse architectural and urban-scale projects, followed by 3.5 years of academic experience in architectural education and research.

Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning, Bengaluru, where I am actively involved in design studios, urban design pedagogy, mentoring students, and academic research. My work reflects a strong integration of theory, practice, and context-sensitive design, with a keen interest in urban morphology, public realm design, and sustainable urban systems.

"Akash Velpula is an Assistant Professor of Architecture with academic specialization in Urban Design and over seven years of experience across teaching and professional practice. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from BMS School of Architecture and a Master’s degree in Urban Design from RV College of Architecture. His academic expertise includes urban design, spatial planning, universal design principles, and sustainable built environments.

He adopts a context-driven and analytical approach to architectural education, emphasizing clarity of design thinking, spatial reasoning, and responsiveness to social and cultural contexts. Hima C S is an Architect, Urban Designer, and Assistant Professor at BMS College of Architecture, Design and Planning, Bengaluru, a nationally recognised institution ranked 20th in the NIRF Rankings 2025. She holds a Gold Medal in Bachelor of Architecture from KLE Technological University (2012) and secured a VTU Rank in Master’s in Urban Design from R V College of Architecture (2017). With over eight years of teaching experience and thirteen years of professional practice, her academic interests focus on urban design, indigenous economies, participatory planning, and sustainable urbanism. She has authored sixteen research publications in esteemed national and international journals and conferences, including CONTEXT, PalArch, Journal PUB, SURF, UDL, and My Liveable City. She is an active member of professional bodies such as the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and the Institute of Urban Designers India (IUDI), contributing to academic discourse through research, consultancy, mentorship, and institutional engagement.

Ar. Anusha S is an architect specializing in Urban Design, with a holistic approach to architectural practice and education that integrates academic rigor with practical insight. Her work and research reflect a strong engagement with contemporary urban challenges, particularly the evolving dynamics of growing cities and the intricate relationship between urban form, infrastructure, and the people who inhabit them. "Jananee R. is a passionate academician and researcher committed to advancing innovative, practice-oriented pedagogy in architecture and urban design. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Urban Design (2020), and secured Second Rank at Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi.

Her academic and research interests are centred on sustainability, with a strong foundation in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and related frameworks that evaluate environmental impacts across the built environment. She has contributed to scholarly discourse through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences.

Currently pursuing her PhD at VTU, Jananee’s research focuses on sustainable and livable cities, exploring approaches that connect evidence-based research with real-world urban challenges. Through teaching, mentorship, and research, she aims to inspire future architects and urban designers while contributing meaningfully to a more sustainable urban future."

Pavan KS is an Assistant Professor affiliated with BMSCA D&P, bringing over a decade of academic and creative experience in the field of art and design. He is actively engaged in teaching, mentoring, and guiding students through diverse artistic practices, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and conceptual development. A Gold Medalist and Rank Holder in Fine Arts from the University of Mysuru, Pavan KS specializes in multidisciplinary fine arts, seamlessly blending creative practice with pedagogical innovation. His areas of expertise include art education, visual communication, and curriculum development, where he integrates contemporary perspectives with traditional artistic methodologies. Through workshops, studio practice, and experiential learning approaches, he plays a significant role in nurturing students and fostering a dynamic learning environment.

"Ar. Tanya is currently working as an Assistant Professor at BMS College of Architecture Design and Planning, Bull Temple Road Bengaluru. She completed her B.Arch from AKTU, Lucknow in 2015 and Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad in 2017. She has a combined experience of 8.5 years in professional and academic fields. Her primary research interest areas include Inclusive urban spaces, behavior based studies, Cultural studies and housing designs. She has presented and published multiple papers in International and National conferences.

"Mr. Sunny K is a highly accomplished academic and structural engineer with over 7+ years of teaching experience. He specializes in Structural Engineering, blending technical expertise, research contributions, and academic leadership. He holds an M.Tech in Structural Engineering from the Global Academy of Technology, VTU in 2018, where he secured the 3rd Rank at the University level. He completed his B.E. in Civil Engineering from Rajarajeswari College of Engineering, VTU in 2016. Technically proficient in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, and ETABS, he also has a year of industry experience as a Structural Engineer. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the BMS College of Architecture Design & Planning. His expertise spans Structural Engineering, Sustainable building construction, and Surveying. His research is well-documented through numerous publications in reputed journals, covering themes like sustainable materials, seismic analysis, composite structures, and innovative concrete technologies. He has also presented papers at various national and international conferences, often earning recognition for excellence.

He has successfully secured research funding grants from KSCST-SPP and VTU Financial assistance for his guided projects. As a research guide, he has successfully supervised multiple M.Tech dissertations on topics such as diagrid structures, seismic and wind load analysis, and retrofitting of buildings. He received the 'Young Researcher Award-2024' from Institute of scholar’s. He is a proven leader, having organized numerous international workshops and conferences within the engineering and architecture sectors. His involvement extends to Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), where he has participated in multiple national-level training programs focusing on sustainability, structural engineering, disaster management etc. He has also served as a faculty coordinator for field visits and survey camps, ensuring students gain practical exposure. MESRA, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India M.Sc - in Architecture Design and History - Politecnico di Milano, Polo Territoriale di Mantova, Italy Starting his career at Dustudio, Auroville and at INTACH Delhi - AH Division, shaped the course of his career ahead. His master’s degree enabled him to gain expertise in historical context, and especially in Digital Documentation. 2018 onwards he has been part of organizing workshops structured around the same, with mentoring in 4 UNESCO WHV programmes. Pooja Mailsamy is an architect and urban researcher based in Chennai and Bengaluru, who envisions a society that collectively values diversity, ethnicity, and culture. She has researched and initiated several studies addressing social and gender issues within the built environment. Making Housing Precedents responds to the urgent housing crisis by exploring affordable and accessible social housing solutions within the spatial constraints of the city through formal architectural practice, supported by her expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM). She believes in a multidisciplinary design approach that is adaptive, inclusive, and responsive. Karthik H is an Assistant Professor and Urban Planner based in Bengaluru, currently pursuing a PhD on community participation in urban planning decision-making. With experience in both academia and practice, Karthik’s work focuses on Smart & Sustainable cities, Data-driven planning & decision making, and neighbourhood-scale urban design. He teaches architecture and planning, drawing on structural design, planning theory, and participatory methods to bridge classroom learning with real-world urban challenges. Through PlanSURE, his urban planning consultancy, he engages in planning, research, and visualization projects that support evidence-based and community-sensitive decision-making. Beyond academia, his interests span classic vehicle restoration, EV conversion, and community-oriented initiatives, reflecting a hands-on, experimental approach to problem-solving.

Ar. Vinit is an architect, academician, and researcher with a strong blend of professional and academic experience. He completed his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Mumbai and Master of Architecture in General Architecture, gaining a solid foundation in architectural design, theory, and research. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, with research interests centered on the urban built environment and environmental performance. He brings seven years of industry experience, having worked on diverse architectural projects that strengthened his understanding of contextual design, construction practices, and sustainable solutions. Alongside professional practice, he has five years of teaching experience, actively engaging in architectural design studios and core academic subjects. He is deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring, with a focus on critical thinking, experiential learning, and integrating research with design. His academic approach aims to bridge theory and practice while nurturing socially responsive and environmentally conscious future architects.
